CESS Project Development
Continued the development of the v0.4.0_alpha version. Great progress has been made in the blockchain network, developing component blocks and proof of Data Reduplication and Recovery mechanism. The storage system is being developed as planned and will integrate with the CESS chain and proof of storage.
1.CESS Blockchain:
Notable development progress in version upgrades, real-time pricing mechanisms and proof functions:
- Completed the upgrade of the CESS blockchain network Substrate framework from the monthly-2021-10 version to the monthly-2022-04 version, realizing the compilation function and client interaction function.
- Complete the development of the real-time pricing mechanism and implemented it, which means flexible pricing will be set based on the real-time demand between storage miners and storage users.
2.CESS v0.1.0_alpha development components
Great progress has been made in the Rest API and Go SDK development components:
- Completed the CESS-Gateway-v0.1.0_alpha version and it passed all basic functional tests, including authentication interface, file upload, file download and inquiry.
- Go SDK components are completed, and its functions have been tested, and the test results are recorded in the test report.
3. Proof of Data Reduplication and Recovery
This is a key technical development in CESS v0.4.0, and is progressing as planned.
- Completed the proof library, realized the basic functions of generating proof and verifying proof, and will continue to test and optimize the proof library.

CESS Project Introduction
Cumulus Encrypted Storage System (CESS) is a high-speed, secure, and scalable decentralized cloud storage network developed with Substrate. It aims to become the first decentralized storage project that offers full data services for large scale commercial applications. The entire network consists of three main modules: blockchain layer, data storage and content distribution layer, and application layer. CESS’s novel Random Rotational Selection (R²S) Consensus Mechanism coordinates the network resources and network load and guarantees data security through mechanisms such as Proof of Data Reduplication and Recovery (PoDR²). In addition, the Multi-format Data Rights Confirmation (MDRC) mechanism and decentralized proxy re-encryption to ensure data integrity, security, traceability and privacy.
CESS is also compatible with EVM and WASM, and the underlying development framework Substrate is also friendly to cross-chain applications. Its technology stack can support most Web3 applications and the development needs of enterprise-level applications.
