Project Development Details:
V0.5.3 is the current testnet which consists of consensus and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network and serve as the data scheduling station in the network. Storage nodes are responsible for providing verifiable storage space and act as the data storage pool in the network.
Consensus Miner [v0.5.3]
The data type for the file block index structure in the on-chain challenge information has been updated from []byte to []uint32.
Completed the phased upgrade of the Substrate framework, was successfully migrated to Polkadot-v0.9.36.
Completed the framework migration of the storage proof library from Kaleido to Kaleido-Gramine.
Fixed the bug that caused remote authentication to fail after migrating the storage proof library to the Gramine framework.
Storage Miner [v0.5.3]
Fixed the bug that resulted in the random number generator producing identical outputs when called multiple times within the same block.
Gateway [v0.1.2]
Proposed a data redundancy scheme which involves slicing the original data into fixed-length segments, and then implementing redundancy to each segment.
The mission of CESS is to provide Web3 with practical storage services. The product ecosystem of the current CESS network is becoming more robust and prosperous. Innovative applications such as decentralized object storage service (DeOSS), online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage service have been incubated. Users can experience these functions.
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Added unit test examples, and a unit test module has been added to the Readme document.
Updated the workflow process for the Build and Test modules in the Readme document.
CESS continues to contribute to the vitality and development of the Polkadot ecosystem and has joined programs such as the Substrate Builders Program (SBP) and W3F Grants. The following are developments for this week:
SBP-Milestone 3
Completed deployment testing of the caching miner and retrieval miner programs.
Completed the testing of the content distribution network file download process.
Fixed the bug that caused frequent abnormal invocation of pay transactions and generation of download tokens by the retrieval miner.
Completed the default configuration file optimization for the caching miner and retrieval miner programs.
Finished the writing of README documents for the cess-cacher and cess-indexer repositories.
Completed the recording of the presentation video.
W3F-Milestone 3
Addressed and fixed all the suggestions in the evaluation report for Milestone 3 and resubmitted it.
Testnet
Overview:
12 consensus nodes and 3823 storage nodes registered with almost 71.28 tib effective storage space within 119 days after the v0.5.3 testnet was launched. More details on the blockchain explorer.
If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
Testnet Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches. Latest miner reward list.
Community Activities
1. Announced the 3 winners of the DeShare file sharing activity. Total reward of 150 USDT has been distributed evenly to each winner. Related tweet.

2. We have launched the NFT Loyalty Program with Dappback, which offers two CESS NFTs as a reward for completing a series of tasks. Collecting a complete set of all NFTs will qualify participants for our upcoming mainnet launch event.Related tweet.

3.CESS has been nominated for the PANews PARTY AWARD 2023 for the best blockchain infrastructure of the year, we encourage everyone to vote for us. The voting period is from now till March 23rd. Click this link to vote!
