Weekly Report 20.03.23–26.03.23

Weekly Highlights

1.Redesigned and optimized the blockchain module to make it more flexible, scalable, and easy to maintain.

2. Upgraded the storage and DeOSS codes to adapt to the chain’s updates.

3. Developed and optimized the first version of CESS homepage, and released a preview.

4. Ambassador program update: 300+ applications from 20+ countries since launched

Project Development Details:

Current testnet: V0.5.3 consists of consensus and storage nodes.Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network and serve as the “data scheduling station” in the network.Storage nodes are responsible for providing verifiable storage space and act as the data storage pool in the network. Updates for this week:

Consensus Miner [v0.5.3]

Completed the upgrade and adaptation for the framework, including support for new features and functions, as well as optimizations in performance and security.

To better support the integration and application of new features, we have rebuilt the blockchain node module. This involved a redesign and optimization of the module’s architecture, making it more flexible, scalable, and easier to maintain.

A new key sharing scheme has been designed for the Kaleido storage proof library, which provides better protection for data integrity and availability.

Discusses on the version upgrade strategy for the Kaleido storage proof library. This will allow for better user access to new features and improved system performance, making the network more efficient and user-friendly.

Implemented the batch verification algorithm for the Kaleido storage proof library. This will significantly reduce verification time, making the system more reliable and stable.

Storage Miner [v0.5.3]

P2P file transfer is now available, improving transfer speed and security while providing a more convenient way to transfer files.

Upgraded the storage node code to adapt to blockchain network updates. This includes modifications to the pallet module name and event definition, as well as an update to the go-substrate-rpc-client version.

The mission of CESS is to provide Web3 with practical storage services. The product ecosystem of the current CESS network is becoming more robust and prosperous. Innovative applications such as decentralized object storage service (DeOSS), online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage service have been incubated. Users can experience these functions. Updates for this week:

Official website (cess.cloud)

Completed the initial development of the homepage, which involved a redesign and optimization of the page content and layout. Released a preview version.

Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)

Completed the upgrade to adapt to the updated blockchain network. The update includes relevant modifications to the pallet module name and event definition, as well as an update to the go-substrate-rpc-client version

CESS continues to contribute to the vitality and development of the Polkadot ecosystem and has joined programs such as the Substrate Builders Program (SBP) and W3F Grants. Updates for this week:

W3F Grants

Submitted an application to the W3F fund for the Subshots project, with the aim of obtaining more resources and support to advance the development and showcase the achievements of the project.

Testnet

Overview:

13 consensus nodes and 5099 storage nodes registered with almost 80.38 tib effective storage space within 141 days after the v0.5.3 testnet was launched. More details on the blockchain explorer.

If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.

Event:

The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches. Latest miner reward list.

Community Activities

1. Rewards had been distributed to all winners of our first metaverse space event for the Chinese community.

2. 300+ applications from over 20 countries. We are delighted by the enthusiastic response, which is a testament to the growing interest in CESS and the Web3 ecosystem. We invite you to join us by submitting your application. Click here to apply.

Feedback and Support

Your feedback matters! Please report issues at CIPs to share your thoughts with us! You can also connect with CESS through other developers in the developer community. We welcome your valuable insights and opinions.
