Weekly Report 15.05.23–21.05.23

Weekly Highlights

1. Jointly tested and debugged all modules in the CESS network, between the Kaleido Rust codebase and CESS Node and storage nodes, as well as the joint debugging between storage nodes, TEE Worker, and DeOSS.

2. Implemented and jointly debugged a series of related functionalities, including the aggregation proof, verification protocol, and the storage of verification results on the blockchain.

3. Completed partial feature updates and optimizations for consensus nodes, along with addressing several issues identified during the joint debugging process.

4. Chairman and co-founder Nick Zaldastani attended the Bitcoin 2023 conference.

Project Development Details

Current testnet: V0.5.3 consists of consensus and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node)and serve as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage nodes provide verifiable storage space and serve as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.

Consensus Miner [v0.5.3]

- Jointly tested and debugged between the Kaleido Rust codebase and the CESS Node and storage nodes.

- Inspected key code in the Kaleido Rust codebase to avoid program runtime errors that could have caused service disruptions.

- Implemented and jointly debugged the aggregation proof and verification protocol, as well as the functionality for storing verification results on the blockchain.

- Modified certain code functionalities and data types to accommodate updates to the TEE Worker-related features.

- Fixed several bugs encountered by consensus nodes in the idle file authentication process.

- Optimized the storage node selection mechanism and random number generation mechanism during the random challenge process.

- Completed the configuration of bootstrap nodes for the p2p network.

Storage Miner [v0.5.3]

- Jointly debugged between the storage nodes, TEE Worker, and DeOSS.

- Fixed the issue of verification aggregation proof failures discovered during the joint debugging process.

The mission of CESS is to provide Web3 with practical storage services. The product ecosystem of the current CESS network is becoming more robust and prosperous. Innovative applications such as decentralized object storage service (DeOSS), online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage service have been incubated. Users can experience these functions. Updates for this week:

Official website (cess.cloud)

- Completed mobile page adaptation and testing, and fixed bugs discovered during the testing process.

Testnet

Overview:

10 consensus nodes and 5742 storage nodes registered with almost 100.56 tib effective storage space within 197 days after the v0.5.3 testnet was launched. More details on the blockchain explorer.

If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.

Event:

The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches. Latest miner reward list.

Community Activities

CESS chairman and co-founder Nick Zaldastani attended Bitcoin 2023 in Miami. Nick shared his expertise and insights in the field of Web3 large-scale enterprise data solutions with the community present at the conference.
