(CESS) is a decentralized cloud data storage network infrastructure, built with Substrate open source framework. Prior to the launch of the CESS blockchain testnet and later-on the CESS official mainnet, the CESS decentralized storage network will be hosted on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Currently the first round of CESS decentralized storage system initial inside testing has been completed with great expected results. The CESS project will start the next round of inside testing on BSC testnet chain at 11:00am (UTC+0) on Oct. 21, 2021. The goal is to build a solid data storage network, and to better prepare for the upcoming mining activities on BSC chain and for the future launch of CESS mainnet.

The users of first round of testing have experienced the basic functionalities of the CESS storage network. The second round testing will be based on the newly released system version consisting improved staking mechanism, improved penalty mechanism and reward releasing scheme. Also, some new features are added: miners can expand storage capacity on the existing nodes; nodes that are temporary frozen can be re-activated, etc. At the meantime, the CESS development team are making great progress on testnet developing and basic testing. On Oct. 16, 2021, the CESS project submitted required documents and passed W3F Grant milestone 1.

The target users of second round CESS inside testing are mainly:

- Candidate storage miners who expect to get the first hand information of requirements on node hardware and system performance, by contributing hard disk space/bandwidth/computational power to get rewards.

- Candidate data users who can experience (with no cost) the CESS cloud data storage functionalities including storing, retrieving and sharing data files, with fast upload/download speed, and with ensured data privacy and security.

How to participate?

How to get rewarded?

A total of 5M CESS tokens are allocated for the inside testing. 2M tokens are rewarded for the first round. 3M tokens will be given out for the second round and will be proportional to the mining rewards during the test. Tokens from CESS faucet are not included. Miners from the first round testing will be receiving token rewards based on network snapshot at 8:00am(UTC+0) or 16:00pm Beijing time, on Oct. 21, 2021.
