Weekly Report

CESS Project Development

Continued the development of the v0.4.0_alpha version (the first version for internal testing). Development progress in blockchain network, storage miners, and scheduling services. All modules have officially entered the optimization and testing stage this week.

1.CESS Blockchain:

Optimized and fixed all the problems found when testing the blockchain network.

  • Fixed the bug when users delete the files after the storage subscription expired, and the remaining space display was incorrectly calculated.

  • Fixed the bug that when deleting files, the deleted files still exist in the list.

  • Optimized the backup calculation code which is the extraction of random files, the calculation of file size and user space.

  • Fixed the bug that the chain triggered random challenge and reported an error after re-uploading the repaired files.

  • Fixed the transaction error that happened when miners tried to redeem deposits.

  • Fixed the bug that caused the failure of file deletion due to errors in the data of miners' computing power and valid space.

2. Storage Miner (CESS-Bucket)

Tested and fixed bugs in the storage miner code.

  • Fixed the error when the storage miners redeemed the deposit.

  • Fixed a bug where the program would occasionally exit abnormally when a storage miner exited mining.

  • Fixed a bug that occasionally caused the program to exit abnormally when the storage miner increased the deposit.

  • Fixed a bug where storage miners failed to clear invalid files.

3. Scheduling service

Released scheduling service v0.1.0 to cess-bootstrap.

  • Completed the development of scheduling service v0.1.0 and released it to cess-bootstrap. Repository link

  • Improved panic capture, added stack information when recording panics.

  • Recorded each subtask, file upload and download processes are recorded separately in the scheduling service with an independent log.

  • Optimized the input parameter, the rpc parameter type and the interface logic of reducing file handles.

CESS Community Activities

1. Internal test:

  1. The internal test of the CESS decentralized storage system based on the iterative version of the BSC testnet ran successfully.

Total reward: 3,000,000 CESS Tokens

Current participating nodes: 327

  1. Internal test activities preparation.

(2) Make relevant preparations for advancing the next round of internal testing activities.

2. Community Activities

Results came out for the event on CESS Discord “Come join CESS’s Discord as Contributors.'' Link.

3. On May 24, 2022, CESS co-founder Jessie Dai was invited to attend the third phase of the Web3.0 bootcamp and gave a 7-minute speech. She proposed that CESS will continue to contribute to the Polkadot ecosystem, providing safe and efficient data services to help materialize Web3.0! Video Link

4. On May 27, 2022, 7 O'clock Media, which focuses on the promotion of blockchain technology, released the article "Decentralized cloud storage technology, CESS/Arweave/Storj, who is better?" The article points out that decentralized cloud storage has abundant business opportunities in the future. CESS is the best decentralized cloud storage to meet great market demands, both at the application level and in the future development prospects.
