On March 7, 2022, W3F approved Cumulus Encrypted Storage System (CESS) Lab’s grant proposal for providing a CESS storage pallet for Substrate. This is another great achievement following CESS’s successful completion of all W3F Grant milestones on January 25, 2022.
The proposal aims to help developers integrate CESS’s storage services directly into their Substrate-based projects without major code modifications. Users can easily upload and download data by customizing the storage REST component without installing additional client programs. This pallet will significantly improve the convenience for all Substrate projects to use secure decentralized storage services provided by CESS, synergizing the development of Substrate’s and CESS’s ecosystems.
CESS is a decentralized storage network developed based on Substrate. It achieves efficient data processing and storage efficiency under a decentralized architecture through underlying storage resource pooling and scheduling technologies. Previously, the storage system developed by CESS has been supported by the Web3 Foundation Grant.
