Weekly Report 08.05.23–14.05.23

Weekly Highlights

1. Optimized on-chain signature content to prevent collusion between TEE Workers and storage nodes leading to security issues.

2. Completed the Dockerfile file and docker image packaging work for the Kaleido Rust codebase and the rotator program.

3. 11 consensus nodes and 5349 storage nodes registered with almost 97.64 tib effective storage space.

4. Co-hosted a Twitter Space discussion with StackOS on the collision of Web3 storage and compute.

Project Development Details

Current testnet: V0.5.3 consists of consensus and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node)and serve as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage nodes provide verifiable storage space and serve as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.

Consensus Miner [v0.5.3]

- Fixed security issues related to bulk verification in the Kaleido Rust version codebase.

- Optimized on-chain signature content to prevent collusion between TEE Workers and storage nodes leading to security issues.

- Completed the Dockerfile file and docker image packaging work for the Kaleido Rust codebase and the rotator program.

- Tested and debugged the Kaleido codebase and the rotator program.

- Tested the deployment of multi-machine of the Kaleido Rust codebase in a production environment.

- Optimized the initialization process and implementation details of the rotator program.

Storage Miner [v0.5.3]

Changed the signature from peer index to peer ID during the interaction with the TEE Worker.

Implemented the functionality for the storage node to monitor for random challenges and actively push proof data to the TEE Worker.

The mission of CESS is to provide Web3 with practical storage services. The product ecosystem of the current CESS network is becoming more robust and prosperous. Innovative applications such as decentralized object storage service (DeOSS), online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage service have been incubated. Users can experience these functions. Updates for this week:

Official website (cess.cloud)

- Optimized the display details of the official website page.

DeOSS(Decentralized Object Storage Service)

- Added a series of functions for network data synchronization and monitoring to the sdk-go codebase.

- Removed constant configuration for token symbols and decimals and instead retrieved them directly from the blockchain.

DeShare: an URL link generation file sharing tool

- Add functionality for automatic switching of RPC nodes.

Testnet

Overview:

11 consensus nodes and 5349 storage nodes registered with almost 97.64 tib effective storage space within 190 days after the v0.5.3 testnet was launched. More details on the blockchain explorer.

If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.

Event:

The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches. Latest miner reward list.

Community Activities

On May 11th, Marketing Manager John Humphreys from CESS and Vishnu Korde, the founder of StackOS, came together to host an exclusive Twitter Space discussion. The focus of this discussion was on exploring the convergence of Web3 storage and compute. Participants had the opportunity to engage in an insightful conversation about the collision of these two important aspects of the Web3 ecosystem and the implications for decentralized applications and technologies. More details.
