To provide a decentralized cloud data
network infrastructure for Web 3.0.

CESS is a decentralized cloud data storage
network infrastructure, built with Substrate open source framework. CESS
encourages excess or under-utilized resources as nodes to join CESS’s
unrestricted expandable network via the token economy incentive method. Each node joins the CESS peer-to-peer network
by contributing data storage resources, computational resources, or network
bandwidth. Built on our state-of-the-art virtualization, cloud computing,
blockchain and data cryptography technologies, CESS organizes and manages the
participating resources providing clients with secure, high performance, and
boundless cloud data storage services. In addition to meeting the data storage
and sharing demands of individuals and organizations, CESS is capable of
supporting large scale enterprise storage requirements with high security and
performance.
CESS will implement multiple
mechanisms and proof schemes, including Proof
of Data Reduplication and Recovery (PoDR²), to
ensure data integrity and privacy. Also, a unique Multi-format Data Rights
Confirmation Mechanism (MDRC) will
be implemented to achieve the data owner rights confirmation and copyright
protection. CESS has proposed an auto-executable and transparent protective
mechanism based on smart contracts, to verify, track and protect owner rights.
It will enhance the existing smart contract technology and will be able to
provide more accurate and solid evidences for data owners’ rights. Combined
with the high-order data encryption technology, CESS will serve the data
clients with superior data storage security and ownership protection in
transaction processing. In CESS, data lineage can be tracked and visualized in
blockchain browser, providing great user experiences. CESS will solve the data
ownership issue in Web 2.0 and give data rights back to data creators.
CESS is dedicated to build an
open, secure, transparent, and equal opportunity global decentralized cloud data
network. To be compatible with existing blockchain applications on other public
chains, the CESS virtual machine is EVM/WASM compatible, providing a more user-friendly,
secure and efficient platform for DAPP development. In addition, the CESS API
supports two types of data storage: object storage and block storage.
Being a new member of the Polkadot
ecosystem, the CESS network will continue the persevering efforts as part of
the powerful driving force for the development of Web 3.0.
